Stuvik Secures Bangsaen Podium Despite Weekend of Misfortune

Sandy Kraokaew Stuvik endured a rollercoaster weekend at the 2026 Thailand Super Series round on the streets of Bangsaen, overcoming a series of setbacks to secure a hard-fought overall podium with B-Quik Absolute Racing.

Sharing the #888 Audi R8 LMS Evo2 with Madagascar’s Iaro Razanokoto, the duo showed strong pace throughout the weekend. Qualifying produced encouraging results with fifth in Q1 and third in Q2, putting the team in contention for a pair of strong finishes.

Race 1, however, proved to be a frustrating affair. Razanokoto took the start and battled through the opening stint while the team worked around a number of handling gremlins affecting the car. Following the mandatory pit stop, Stuvik took over but immediately felt that something wasn’t quite right. The issue progressively worsened over the course of his stint before ultimately developing into a suspension failure, forcing the team to retire the car on the final lap in what was a disappointing end to an otherwise promising race.

The team responded well overnight, returning for Race 2 determined to make amends. Starting from third on the grid, Stuvik made a clean getaway and maintained his position while keeping the leading pair firmly within sight during the opening stint. Their podium challenge was briefly thrown into doubt just before the pit window when a backmarker became stranded at the hairpin, causing the cars ahead to bunch up. The resulting contact left Stuvik with a puncture, costing valuable time before handing the car over to Razanokoto.

Despite the setback, Razanokoto delivered an excellent second stint, consistently lapping at a competitive pace while the team capitalised on misfortune for several rivals. Their perseverance paid off as the #888 Audi fought its way back to claim third overall, capping off the recovery with the fastest lap of the race.

“Overall, it’s a weekend that leaves us with mixed emotions,” said Stuvik. “We had the pace to challenge at the front all weekend, but unfortunately circumstances didn’t quite fall our way. Losing Race 1 on the final lap was incredibly disappointing, and then the puncture in Race 2 made things even more difficult. That said, everyone at B-Quik Absolute Racing did a fantastic job to keep pushing, and coming away with a podium and the fastest lap shows the potential we had this weekend.”

Stuvik also thanked teammate Iaro Razanokoto and the entire B-Quik Absolute Racing crew for their hard work throughout one of the most demanding weekends of the season, as well as the team’s partners and supporters for their continued backing.

With valuable championship points added to their tally despite the setbacks, Stuvik and Razanokoto now shift their focus to the next round of the Thailand Super Series at Sepang International Circuit on 22–23 August, where they will be aiming to convert their strong pace into an even bigger result.
