9 Oct. 2011 EuroCup Race 14 Qualifying

Another strong improvement for Sandy

Sunday morning and again the sun is shining on Spain and the Catalunya Circuit for the early morning qualifying for the final race of the Formula Renault 2.0 EuroCup 2011 season. Sandy immediately got going setting strong times, much faster than he ever has posted on this fantastic circuit. All through two thirds of the qualifying he kept improving his lap times, constantly posting lap times in the low 1 minute 45 seconds bracket, clearly showing the new set up suits Sandy's driving style. By the end of the session his best time was 1:45:280, only 1.8 seconds behind the P1 time.

This will put the Thai driver starting 27th on this afternoon's grid, but this time he will be there in a car he has confidence in and can push with. Sandy has seen a rapid improvement this weekend and is starting to build confidence again in himself and the car after a tough period and the results from this weekend clearly shows that he is on the right track. Sandy and his team keep their fingers crossed for the  season ending finale.
